High-performance tunnel
Nthbe for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android
Nthbe Private networking,
on your terms.
One fast tunnel for everyday privacy. One encrypted Mesh for reaching your own devices and networks from anywhere.
Available for macOS, iOS and iPadOS. Android coming soon.
Control without clutter
The network tools you need.
Nothing in the way.
Nthbe keeps connection state, route policy and live traffic readable at a glance, then gets out of your way.
Outbound policy
Your traffic, your rules
Switch between Direct, Global and Rules. Apply local policy without exposing server-managed rules for editing.Network visibility
Know what is moving
See throughput, active flows, route distribution and capture data without leaving the app.Security by design
Private networking should be understandable.
Nthbe keeps identity, routing and diagnostic data within explicit boundaries, with controls that stay visible to the person operating the device.
Account-isolated Mesh
Each device publishes a cryptographic identity inside its account. Peer paths are validated before traffic is accepted.
P-256 device identityExplicit network access
Subnet sharing is an intentional gateway mode with priority and standby state, not an automatic export of every local network.
Controlled subnet publishingDiagnostics stay local
Traffic capture and browsing diagnostics remain on the device unless you deliberately export them for support.
User-controlled exportNthbe Mesh
Your devices become one private network.
Connect a Mac, iPhone, iPad or Android device by its .nbmesh name. Publish a chosen subnet through a controlled gateway when a whole LAN needs to come with you.
- Encrypted device identity and account isolation
- LAN path, NAT traversal and relay fallback
- Explicit subnet gateway, priority and standby state
Built for the long run
Performance is more than a speed test.
Nthbe is moving every app to one new packet engine, starting with Nthbe for Mac. Throughput matters, and so do latency, CPU use and staying connected after days of real traffic.
Latest engine baseline October 2026
121.6 GbpsUserspace TUN core
Upload through the TUN core: median of five 1 GiB samples at virtual MTU 4050, 5.8× the previous engine (20.9 Gbps) on the same Mac. At MTU 1500: 82.9 Gbps, previously 9.6.
Previous engine: 12.8 Gbps
Previous engine: 67.5 µs
Previous engine: 1.71 ms
In every sample
Offline component benchmarks of the new Nthbe engine on an Apple M4 Mac: Release builds, loopback, five samples per test, medians, each paired with the previous engine on the same machine. They measure how fast the engine processes packets, not VPN, internet or proxy-server speed; in the apps, the system's packet delivery and your network set the real speed.
Native TUN engine
Packets move in batches of up to 64 through reusable buffers, handled by one thread per tunnel.
Bounded by default
Flows, sessions, queues and capture buffers have fixed limits. When output is full, the engine pauses reading instead of dropping packets.
Local listeners stay useful
On Mac, HTTP, SOCKS5 and DNS listeners follow the same rules as the system tunnel and can stay on while it runs.
Path-aware fallback
Mesh tries your local network first, then NAT traversal, then your account's relays, moving to the next relay if one stops answering.
One account, every screen
At home on every screen you use.
A shared product language across Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android, adapted for each screen instead of stretched across it.
